Workers on the Roof? Demolition Next? Are They Moving the Records Building?

Updated: Sep 22, 2020

Definitely news and probably not good this past week. A dumpster and a portable toilet have been added to the work site. Workers seemed to be doing something on the roof. Apparently, as stated to the media, NJ Transit says it is preparing to "deconstruct the building" for "potential future reuse".

But what is their plan?

Just the basics, please ... the where, when, what and how much for this potential reuse! NJ Transit has persisted in its plans for a demolition. Perhaps they intend to some salvage reusable materials, but so far no explicit plan for a new future for the Records Building. This answer is far too vague for the many who care. At a time of record low ridership and undoubtedly giant subsidies, why would NJ Transit pursue an expensive plan?

We've asked these questions and more ... no answers from those who might know ... questions everyone should be asking.

The media is covering the latest moves ... thankfully some folks are watching:
