217 Willow - Opposed Demolition

Updated: Jun 18, 2019

The RD-Task Force conducted a site inspection and provided many reasons why the property, slated for demolition, should be saved. A letter was sent to the chair of the Hoboken Planning Board and Historic Preservation Commission on April 5, 2018. http://bit.ly/217WillowLetter4-5-18

In addition, the Historic Preservation Commission submitted substantial documentation on the historic nature of this structure.

Update: The Planning Board met and testimony by structural engineer Bevan Lawson, from Philadelphia and hired by the developer, raised concerns whether the existing structure could support the additional planned stories and extension desired by the developer. After his testimony, the board voted to approve the demolition.
