OUR MISSION

To preserve and strengthen the unique and historic character of Hoboken

OUR APPROACH
  • To educate the public on changes that could negatively impact the character of Hoboken

  • To work with government officials in enacting policy changes to protect Hoboken's charm

  • To work with other civic organizations aligned with our mission and goals

WHAT WE CARE ABOUT
Development within the Context & Scale of the City

We review new development plans in terms of how they affect immediate neighborhoods and Hoboken at large.

We consider scale, appearance, architectural elements, and the potential impact on infrastructure and transportation.

Historic Preservation & Adaptive Reuse

Hoboken's historic structures are part of its great appeal. Without expanded historic districts or Historic Preservation Commission review, we are at risk of losing our rich heritage in a very short period of time.

Protecting & Growing Hoboken's Green Spaces

As one of the most densely populated cities in the U.S.,  it is imperative that we recognize parks, backyards, and other green spaces as vital assets.

Increasing green space is also essential to reducing our vulnerability to flooding.
